Our inspiration for this website came from losing our own pets several years ago,

by Jack and Krista Sampson

It was fourth of July weekend, we had left for a short family get together at the lake.

We had made arrangements for Krista's dad (a vet) to care for our dogs while we were gone.

We were enjoying ourselves when Krista's dad called and said "is there something you forgot to tell me..., the dogs are not here".

We left the get together shortly after the call and headed back to Tulsa to search for our pets.

We searched until the wee hours of the morning, went to bed and got up and started searching again first thing the next morning. We continued to search for another 4 days with no luck. We tried every avenue for finding a lost pet; The City pound, local vets, the SPCA, and finally posted signs with pictures around the area and a sizable reward. Finally on the 5Th day someone called and said that our pets had been sleeping in her driveway almost all day yesterday. She was a young women who happened to be very afraid of dogs and had called the police, since the dogs were not aggressive, luckily the police did not respond.

We went to meet with her and she told us that her neighbor had taken the dogs.

She offered to relay our phone number and later that night we received a call from her neighbor to plan a reunion with our dogs. It turns out that her brother (a vet) had taken our dogs to south Tulsa for safe keeping in his yard.

That night we went to retrieve our dogs with reward money in hand and to our surprise they would not accept our reward money.

We have been thinking since this experience that there has to be an easier way for people with lost and found pets to notify the public and have a common place to search or post, so we decided to take the reward money and start this website.

This website is completely free to post and read about lost and found pets.

The more we can spread the word about this website the more effective it will be.

Best of luck,

Jack and Krista Sampson
